The SAE 1006 hot rolled carbon steel coil is a low carbon, extra-soft drawing grade produced to the SAE and ASTM A568 standards. With a very low carbon content, the material offers exceptional ductility and deep drawing capability, making it the preferred substrate for cold forming, stamping, bending and the production of cold rolled and coated products. It delivers a smooth, uniform surface and consistent mechanical properties from coil to coil.
The coil is supplied in the hot rolled condition with an optional pickled and oiled surface to remove scale and provide a clean, oiled finish ready for downstream processing. It is available in thicknesses from 0.8mm to 6mm and widths from 600mm to 2000mm, with standard inner diameters of 508mm and 610mm. Each lot is accompanied by a full mill test certificate.

The SAE 1006 coil is used for deep drawn components, automotive parts, household appliances, pipe and tube manufacturing, cold rolled and galvanized substrate, and general stamping applications. Its extra-soft nature makes it the standard drawing grade for manufacturers requiring reliable formability and surface quality.
Packaging & Quality AssuranceCoils are protected with anti-rust oil and waterproof paper, secured with steel strapping and packed in export-grade seaworthy bundles with edge protection. Pre-shipment inspection is standard, with SGS and BV third-party testing available on request. Production is controlled under an ISO 9001:2015 quality system.
Our monthly supply capacity of 50000 tons supports both trial and contract orders. Contact our team with your required thickness, width and tonnage for competitive pricing and current production schedules.
