310S is a high alloy austenitic stainless steel with 25 percent chromium and 20 percent nickel, developed for service at high temperature. The high chromium level forms a protective oxide scale that resists oxidation and scaling in continuous service up to about 1200 degrees Celsius, far beyond the limit of ordinary 304 or 316 grades.
The low carbon content of 310S improves resistance to sensitization and creep at elevated temperature. HYX supplies 310S plate from 3mm to 60mm for furnace and boiler components that must keep their strength and shape while exposed to intense heat and thermal cycling.
Key Features| Parameter | Specification |
|---|---|
| Grade | 310S / S31008 / 1.4845 |
| Thickness | 3mm - 60mm |
| Width | 1000mm - 2000mm |
| Length | 2000mm - 6000mm |
| Surface | NO.1, 2B |
| Chromium | 24 - 26% |
| Nickel | 19 - 22% |
| Oxidation Resistance | Up to 1200 C |
| Tensile Strength | 515 MPa Min |
| Standard | ASTM A240, EN 10088, JIS G4304 |
310S plate is used for furnace linings, kiln parts, radiant tubes, boiler baffles, heat treatment fixtures and exhaust components that operate at very high temperature. Its ability to resist oxidation and scaling keeps these parts working longer between shutdowns.
The grade also serves cement and glass plant equipment, incinerator components and petrochemical heaters. Engineers select 310S when a component must endure sustained heat, thermal cycling and oxidizing atmospheres where standard stainless grades would quickly fail.
Quality Assurance & PackagingEach lot is inspected for chemical composition, thickness and surface, and shipped with an EN 10204 3.1 mill test certificate. SGS or BV third party inspection and PMI testing can be arranged to confirm chromium and nickel content.
Plates are protected with film where required, strapped with steel bands and wrapped in waterproof paper on wooden pallets for ocean transport. Export packing keeps the surface free from damage and moisture and can be marked for easy identification on site.
