ASTM A312 TP316L marine grade stainless steel seamless pipe is a molybdenum bearing austenitic grade engineered for chloride rich and severely corrosive environments. The addition of 2 to 3 percent molybdenum raises the pitting resistance equivalent number to about 25, giving the pipe markedly better resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion and chloride stress corrosion cracking than standard 304 material. This makes TP316L the default specification for seawater piping,
